Race Reports: NYC Marathon, Boundary Bay Marathon, & First Call Veterans Day Marathon

Running at the TCS New York Marathon on November 2nd was Tim L, Fay W and Marinus W.  Brutally cold winds did not deter our 3 members from finishing this iconic race from Staten Island to Central Park and in the process run through the 5 NYC boroughs.    Our three members were a part of history.  This year’s NYC Marathon had 50,564 finishers, making this the largest marathon ever.

Closer to home, our Tracy M raced in the MacDonalds Boundary Bay Marathon in Delta on the same day.  (Yes, the chain famous for its Big Mac was the title sponsor of this Try Events marathon).   This beautiful gravel ocean side trail offered wonderful ocean views despite the cold winds.

Six days later, Tracy M, was at it again.  This time at the First Call Veterans Day Marathon in Bothell, WA on Saturday, November 8th.  “It was a chilly start with lots of fog but within an hour the fog burned off, the temperature rose a bit and the sun came out.  It was absolutely beautiful along the Sammamish River Trail and we had a great run and really fun day.   This was the sixth, and last, of this year’s First Call marathon series”.   Thanks for the report Tracy.

Congrats Fay, Marinus, Tim & Tracy.
