Subaru Vancouver Triathlon / Light at the End of The Tunnel Marathon

Congratulations to our members racing last weekend at the Subaru Vancouver Triathlon: Sprint (Fay W – 1st in AG, Steve M), Olympic (Tom C, Jane D, Kyla E, Cat F, Dave H, Mary L) and Long Distance (Jocelynn R).

Down in North Bend, WA, our Marathon Maniacs, Tracy M and Marinus W, ran the Light at the End of the Tunnel Marathon.  Marinus commented “the race is a great one for someone looking for a small well run event that has a unique course.  It was a hot day and after a very good first half, I faded but still managed to finish 10th in my AG out of 34.”   Tracy added, “this is a beautiful course through the mountains, with a 4 km tunnel at the start.  It was a particularly hot day but with plenty of aid stations along the course, and a fantastic food table at the finish…well worth the tough, sweaty effort.”    SIDEBAR: The first 4 km are flat, cold, foggy and damp inside an unlit tunnel.
